Digital Distortion is the new album by Australian rapper, songwriter Iggy Azalea which is scheduled to drop sometime this year.she also disclosed the inclusion of a song called “Calm Down” and a skit called “Iggy Alert” The latter is aimed at the haters that cling to her every word. She revealed Wednesday that she would be releasing the first single off the set sometime this month as well. Fans caught on and made the connection between her album title and the images she’s been posting to her Instagram lately.
She also said she is still working on Digital Distortion and will soon begin asking people for collaborations In one of the clips, which she writes, “The studio was pretty fun last night,” you hear Iggy rap, “I got that boom, boom,” over a dance beat. Digital Distortion also includes a love song, a rare move for Azalea. “It’s the one song I did that’s lovey because [fiancé] Nick [Young] was like, ‘You don’t have any love songs. I don’t exist,’” she says. “I usually do break-up ‘I hate you songs,’ but I’m getting married so I can’t write those anymore.”
The previously announced buzz track “Azillion” was finally premiered on her Soundcloud page on January 8th. There’s an edge too it, but the track still has a strong pop sensibility “It’s harder than my debut — more aggressive. It’s a little bit darker and moodier and there’s a bit more of a throwback to some of my older mixtape sounds. But it’s got electronic influences used in a rap way. My version of rap is always always controversial,” Iggy said of her new album.
